Was doing a bit of pondering regarding the GTI 1500 & the GTP 1350. From what I hear, they have the same electronics. Why wouldn't it be possible to program the GTI1500 (& 2500) to do profiling with the non-imaging coils? I had a GTI 1500 a few years ago & really detested the performance I got in places like ghost towns & trashy campsites. Sure, I could put on a smaller non-imaging coil, but then what's the point of getting a GTI 1500? This is a glaring weakness in the GTI lineup. Now, on the other hand, if Garrett were to offer an upgrade for existing GTI units so that they could also profile, that would be consistent with gaining additional useful features with more money spent. As it is, I wouldn't buy a GTI. I'd get a GTP 1350. Maybe it's just me that looks at it in that way. So, anyone hear anything/ ...Willy.
