Is a Tejon any good on a saltwater beach or should I leave it at home?

I have a Soverign GT and a T-2 that both are good on the beach but i'll try the Tejon too if it's worth the trouble?

It works good on the sand. but when u get around the water mark u need to set discriminate around the nickle setting thats using the Tejon.anything before nickle setting goes crazy .forget all metal mode.
 
he's thinking about buying one so I figured i'll let him use it a couple of weeks to see if he like's it.
