Is a DD coil worth the $$ on the MXT ?

I've been relic hunting the same place for 2 years now and almost cleaned it out. I'm wondering if I got an after market coil would I find things the factory coil missed.

When you say "factory coil", are you referring to the 950, or a Whites Eclipse DD coil?

If you are referring to the stock 950, then an Eclipse 6x10 DD would be a great addition for relic hunting. It's the coil I use on my MXT about 95% of the time. I've owned all of the DD coils available at one time, or another, and didn't really find any advantage over the factory coils. That's not saying they don't work, I just didn't find any advantage.

Hope this is helpful.

Good hunting,
OldeTymer

I agree with OldeTymer 100%. A 6x10 DD coil is "A MUST" in my arsenal of coil selections. The DD coil seems to make an old hunted out site come back to life. So to answer your question, YES, I would definitely think it's worth the money to invest in a DD coil.

Are DDs worth it on a women? Not all the time but in your case, I would say yeah, GET THE DD COIL!!!
