Is 23 the magic # for gold? F70

Been reading a lot on the forum. Great info thank you. If you read this and have found Gold please post what it came up as.
Thank you

Heres the bummer about gold...it can be anywhere...Theres some really great posts on almost every forum about the range of gold and what signal it gives on different machines.
Bottom line is small womens rings are in the foil section of your F70...from the high teens to high 20's...with most 2gr being popular and in 23-26.
a heavier womens wedding band can be in the low 30's smack in the nickle reading, a girls class ring will be right above that in the pulltab reading 36-39ish, a mens wedding band too. A mens class ring will be in the zinc penny area, 60 range, chains and charms can be anywhere, especially chains, which can be very low...So young Jedi, you sort of have to get good at rapid target retrieval...if you commit to dig 1000 zinc pennys and 1000 pulltabs as fast as you can, you will learn a lot. By dig I mean l stab if shallow 3" deep on up signals, with a screwdriver instead of actually digging a hole with a trowel.. you will be amazed at what you learn about pinpointing and targets signals with this excersize. You will also get good at thinking about where gold might be, for instance in a totlot, every foil signal needs to be inspected..why? because mothers take their kids to totlots, and thats what size ring they wear...around BB courts, think about chains, why? cause thats what bb players like to sport...If you get enough targets, the gold just shows up unexpected sometimes..its a matter of covering ground, getting targets and the odds, which you can increase by hunting areas where gold is most likely lost, and THINKING about the location and depth of the signal..ie, "what is this zinc penny doing 6" deep in the middle of the football field?" .read craigslist lost and found section, you will see where most gold rings are lost, and thats just about anywhere!.

Hear, Hear Mud.... Rob I only dig coin signals and come up with gold/silver jewelry and silver coins. There is nothing like clad stabbing to sharpen your skills. I think it is a very quick and rewarding way to get to know your equipment. HH.....Z

from what i can remember ive had three that rang up at 23 two at 28 1 at 42 and two large bands that hit at 55 and a 20 gram class ring at 65 and i did get a couple of real small gold rings that hit in the hi iron range, so my best advise is dig everything if it gives a solid signal and it pinpointes good hh

Only one of my gold finds so far was found with the F75 it rang ip 33-34. Since the elementary school I was at was blessedly free of tabs, I figured it was a nickel reading a couple numbers higher then I'm used to seeing them. Took a good while to find the target even with the pro pointer. In fact i had such a hard time I had to stand up three times to relocate the target with the 75. Finally a 14k heart shaped locket came up from the pea gravel in the swing set area. Weighed in at ..9 grams, and the swing sets in two different elementary school tot lots gave up 14k pendants in a month another tot lot gave up a 10k womens diamond ring in the grass, no numbers on the second pemdant and 10k ring. Was using my tesoro due to killing the coil on my 75. But my rule of thumb is, in the gravel/ wood chip/ sand of the tot lots I dig everything.

Hope this helps a little on location and what a small locket rings up as.

From many tests over the years just a proven fact most of the gold rings lost are thin womans rings (35-40 percent) and fall in the foil region of any unit..The kicker is that includes most engagement rings which could have as nice stone..

That being said gold rings can fall from low foil into screwcap on any unit which is a big area and of course a big honker college ring that comes in high in screwcap could bring big bucks with the price of gold...Talking to Mike Hillis his method of cutting down the odds is judging the area and what might type might be found in a particuliar area.
In other words on a football field go for the larger ones as most likely lost by a male...(square pulltab up will give you the better odds) but again one never knows...and a little luck doesn't hurt either...
