I have two clips here: A 5 second long 8" deep small piece of iron and a 5 second long 8" deep coin. They had roughly the same CO number on the screen. I loop the two 3 times, going iron, coin, iron, coin, iron and coin - to hopefully allow you to get a feel for the sound. Very short, 40 seconds total.
Can you hear the difference between them? I can't but that said, iron is often more broken to me and a bit wider. Coins often are smoother and narrow in their peek. I chose two harder targets to differentiate here but I do bet those with particularly good hearing can hear a difference. If not here then perhaps with Headphones on and in the field it would be more noticeable.
Of note, in my video editor, it does show the sound visually, and the two look the same there.
Anyway, try it with your eyes closed ;-)
