Iron rejection...

I am getting an audio tone for iron no matter what I set the disc to when in Coin or Relic modes..... with or without the trigger forward.
I was getting signals for everything today but only dug what I wanted as the visual display showed the objects as iron with minus readings for the VDI..... I thought it was not supposed to do this in these modes with disc set suitably? Sometimes it gives a clear 'beep' but no VDI reading - so I left these as well. The constant signals were driving me mad.
This was on the beach but it does it at home doing an 'air' test as well. It still beeps for iron even with the disc set at max in the two modes as above. Is it right?
 
Ignore my last post - I need to read the instructions more carefully and check exactly what setting I have before completely confusing myself.... the machine is working fine - it is me that is faulty !!!
