Iron masking ...

Went out with the Spectrum V3 this morning before the crowd arrived.
Here is a photo of two coins that were found on the beach today.
The V3 locked on both of them as coins but as you see there was also a piece of iron close to each of them.
They were recovered at a depth of about 8" in dry salt water beach sand using the unmodified salt water beach program.

Also found a handful of quarters, dimes, and penny's and the usual lot of pull tabs. No gold today ...

Do you have any isue with pinpointing in that program?

I had to bump up the "All Metal" from 50 to 70.

Jerry, I seldom "pull the trigger" on the beach as the normal response seems sharp enough that I usually get the target on the first or second scoop full.
I have had a few targets that were troublesome to locate and I resorted to the pinpoint mode ... no problems ... pinpoints very sharply.
These were either junk or multiple targets close together in the sand.

Just got more rain today ... that means the ground will soften up a bit and I will be getting out to do some park and school hunting.
I am wanting to search a local school football field using the deep silver program.

I have found that the V3 does a very good job at finding good targets mixed in with iron. this afternoon I was practicing in my yard using the relic mode with mixed mode and got a iron response as well as a good reading, upon looking at the display I a stack of green bars as well as a smeared group of red bars Indicating two different metals.
