Iron mask???

This is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway. When I'm hunting in the smart screen discrimination mode, for instance a coin program that I created myself, does it matter where iron mask is set. What I mean is say if iron mask was set anywhere would it have any effect on my coin program in smart screen mode.Thanks. HH-Coinshooter65

If you are in the disc program while hunting it should make no difference in where the iron mask is set at as this is 2 differnt modes of operation.

the way I understand it is that the black part of your coin screen works like the iron mask, just shaped different.

Thats about right, as all the black is what is rejected and if there was a coin close to iron object it would also be rejected depending on how big the iron object is. This is why some of us run the iron mask to a -8 or more as it is more likely to get the coin beside iron.
This is why I say it is 2 differnt modes and when you have it in iron mask and then switch to your disc pattern the iron mask will have no effect on the disc pattern as it is its own setting like 2 differnt disc setting.
