IRON Mask

I think there are quite a few confused about iron mask... The screen that shows up when you hit iron mask the first time is only the iron mask setting screen.. its where you set the amount of iron mask you want to run under.. while you can still hunt when on the setting screen you lose alot of information, depth, sensitivity setting, size of screen is smaller... etc..
From the iron mask setting screen, you can either hit iron mask one more time, or hit detect and it will take you to the screen you were last hunting in, smart or digital.. iron mask will still be on(you can verify this by the black icon above the iron mask on mark on the screen) so you can still use digital or smart screen with iron mask on.. once iron mask is on from any of the other modes, hitting the iron mask button again will turn it off and put you into your last pattern screen..
So just remember the screen that allows you to set amount of iron mask up or down is just for setting iron mask, its not a screen you should be hunting in, even though you can

Hi All,
Over here we have been using the following with great success.
Options Advanced.
Select.(clear)
Then scroll down and X against nails rejecting them.Display Smart.
Volume 10.
Gain 7-8.
threshhold (10 on XS2) on MKII 20)
Variability 6
limits 6
sounds ferrous
response Normal audio.
Recovery deep.
Adjust sensitivity to suit site requirments.(Manual mode)
Very often we set the iron mask to 0.
Credit for this progranmme belongs to one Tony Hunt.
He found two hoards using it and one coin alone worth about $5000.
I found enough to pay for my XS and part of the current MKII.
Best of luck,

I'd like to add that there is an indicator on the LCD display above the iron mask button that indicates whether iron mask is on/off. Same thing with the pinpoint.
