Hi Ron,
Iron mask is just another form of discrimination that allows the user to adjust the x-axis of the smart screen to phase in or out the amount of iron that the detector will "see". ie...yes, its another mode of discrimination.

The setting you do in iron mask do not work in disc as iron mask is a mode of opperation all to itself.
