Iron Mask Question

I have seen various iron mask settings discussed on this forum. For instance, I have the Moultray set-up and it calls for IM -10. On my machine the settings go from 32 (I think) to zero, so am I right in assuming that -10 is not read as Negative 10, but simply a value of ten on a scale from 32 to 0?

You have to remember that the Explore II only goes to 16 in iron mask not 32. so, if you get a Iron mask program for a Ex II you will have to do the math for Ex SE.

So does the explorer ii go from -10 to 16 or negative 16 to 16?

Yeah, that would make doing the math easier, if I knew the parameters. I'll check the Xpl II Manual on minelab.com and see.

Yep, according to the manual I downloaded it's -16 to +16. So -10 would be 26. Is that right or do I really suck that bad at math??

Think you went the wrong way should be 6, correct?

0 -16
1 -15
2 -14
3 -13
4 -12
5 -11
6 -10
7 -9
8 -8
9 -7
10 -6
11 -5
12 -4
13 -3
14 -2
15 -1
16 0
17 1
18 2
19 3
20 4
21 5
22 6
23 7
24 8
25 9
26 10
27 11
28 12
29 13
30 14
31 15
32 16

Magicman, if you look at page 34 in the SE Owners Manual it shows the numeric values for Iron Mask as starting at the left side of the screen AM (All Metal) then 31 following numerically backwards to 0 at the right side of the screen, AM equaling -16 and 0 equaling +16 on the Expl II. That makes -10 on the Expl II equal 26 on the SE.

Thanks, so I went backwards.....
