Can you make patterns in IRON MASK advanced mode using the learn and edit modes.If so can you please explain.

No, The Iron mask is just a mode all to itself. You can copy the iron mask in the disc smart find mode if you want. I just open the screen in the edit mode and black out the area on the left side that will copy iron mask. Now you will be able to block out any other targets you dont want in the learn mode.
I have one set up for ferrious that has just black out the whole screen and then open the top 1/2 inch untill it would be where iron mask at -10 would be and go to learn and learn my nickles in the medium cursor so I dont have to listen to the other junk.

I leave just a little on the left side blackend out, maybe 1/4 inch.
