Iron ID on Euro Sabre

just-dig

New member
I was reading through the manual on the Euro Sabre and it says it has an iron ID mode that gives three different tones, high tone, low tone for iron and a rolling tone for odd shaped or iron with a hole in it. I would like some input from someone with much experience with this detector. How well does it do in trash infested home sites, and what can you expect for depth on coin sized objects? Also I never see these come up for sale, are they difficult to find?

Thanks, Markk

Hi Markk !

Suggest you Email Monte V. Berry at : MonteVB@comcast.net . He is an expert metal detectorist and very experienced with the Tesoro's. He can answer all of your questions and help you find a Euro. Give him time to reply though, as he usually has a large back-load of mail to answer.

Another Tesoro expert you could contact for help is David C. Brown, who goes by username "Tabdog". He frequently posts here at findmall and also at Friendly Metal Detecting Forums. He loves the Tesoro's and has experience with the Euro. I contacted him back in May of this year regarding a digging tool he uses and at that time his Email address was: dcb1265@sbcglobal.net.

Good Luck and HH !

Todd :)

Thank you very much Todd, I appreciate it. I've seen both of those names before giving advice on Tesoros and was hoping one would reply. The email addresses are even better.
Thanks again, Mark

Also, there is a video on you tube that is very informative. I have one, but only used it a few times. Enough to know that it's a keeper. sam in ms

I have it on my zen but did not find it on youtube for some reason.did find it using google, about 4 inserts down using 'tesoro eurosabre video' as search terms. if you still can't find it ,i will pull from my zen media player.sam in ms

Correction; http://s247.photobucket.com/albums/gg149/davidmann007/VIDEOS/?action=view&current=EuroSabreM.flv . it was 5 entries down from eurosabre videos, not tesoro eurosabre videos. I would think they would or should have it on tesoro website, but could not find it.you should have it now.sam in ms

Thanks for the replies, that video was informative. I guess since the machine was designed for the European customer base it was never widely used here?

True it was orientated to Europeans, and not so much promoted here in u.s.. But those that can get one rarely part with it, has a great place in any detectorist's arsenal. Like i stated, i only used it for less than an hour in my incomplete test garden,Love it. Until i get my test bed all set up , i will not know what you need to hear. It has the ground balance, variable tone [only for low conductive/ferrous]--and from what i read-very deep on relic items. MONTY or TABDOG and others are more knowledgeable on this. Do use the search option,I did over a year ago and made many good decisions.Have only used other brands in salt water, but mostly tesoro on land.Hope i helped, sam in ms

Thanks for posting that video. I had seen that months back but it still only shows the first part of that ground balance video. Where is the second part where he takes the Euro Sabre outside? I've searched and I know it's been discussed on these boards but I just can't find it??
