Iron discrimination on the 350 works great..

Ran a test with one of my field test items - a six inch, three eights-inch diameter, rusty nail bent ninety degrees at the end. Laid it and a quarter down next to each other. In all modes except zero the 350 belltoned on the quarter and was silent on the nail. Switching to zero mode it had no problem isolating and ID'ing the two targets and belltoned on the quarter and booped on the nail. As long as the distance between the two targets is wider than the width of the tip of the signal it will easily isolate the two. Even if you lay them an inch apart the 350 in zero will still isolate them. So this is good to know when hunting in iron infested areas.

Thanks Uncle Willy!:clapping:One of many reasons I love double D search coils. Great target seperation!:detecting: Signal is like a knife edge goin' into the ground.
Thanks again!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

You are 100% right, I also am amazed how slow you can swing and still get a hit, Maybe swing is not a good word, Move the coil over the target VERY SLOW would be more like it. Nope thats not it either, Barely move the coil over the target would be more like it

And yes In zero mode even if they are next to each you can ID both targets

Thanks, guys. Just sent for my calendar and also asked about the 350 and they noted that it was also great for the East Texas iron-ore infested sites and that the higher frequency allowed it to detect smaller pieces of metal. I told them about Bill's nail test and that their info along with the test was good enough for me. Detector time.
