Iron Audio on Racer 2 question

OK guys, for those of you who have a racer 2 are you messing with the iron audio and leaving the disc alone? For instance in 3 tone mode are you running zero disc and turning the iron audio off or at minimum? Or just running the disc up to say 20 and by passing the iron audio all together?

It is raining here and I cannot get out to mess around with it much but thought it might be an advantage to have the iron audio less audible but to where you could still hear it at a lower volume and not using any disc at all to make the better targets jump out more around iron trash.

Just picking your brains.

I run disc at 00 or 03 and FE volume at 01.It will be interesting as to where others set to.

That is the beauty of Iron Audio Volume is that you can run a very low disc setting ( increases machines ability to unmask) and also control how loud you want to hear the low tone volume. I run disc at 03 and set my Iron Audio Volume at 01 or 02. I like to hear the iron but just barely so I know how much iron I may or may not be dealing with.

If you have your disc set at 20, you are well above the iron range as the ferrous non-ferrous breakpoint on your Racer 2 is 10.

I run my disc at 03 and the iron audio at 01 or even 00. It depends on where I'm hunting. 01 is nice for finding and keeping in a past inhabited area like an old farm or ghost town site. If I'm just hunting an old lot in town, I'll drop the iron audio to 00.

Yep, sometimes I'll do that as well, turn iron audio to 00/off in sites that I know are loaded with iron and listen for a mid or high tone to try and squeak thru.

It's good to see that i am on the same page as everyone else.

Well it looks like everybody is on the same page. Tomorrow I am going to try it out in the field and see what happens. Thanks for the input everyone!!
