Iron and coin in hole...

Today I hit a local park for a very short time due to the skeeters. Anyway, I have been concerned about nulling and still finding coins.
This is a really trashy park so I was ignoring iffy targets. I managed to get a nice signal at a little less than half depth meter. Open up my plug and found two pieces of rusted iron. Annoyed I flipped the plug back in and gave the detector a final sweep and still had a nice signal.
Flipped the plug back out and using the X1 probe I found a '44 wheatie. Not much of a find but it impressed me the detector could see the coin residing about 2 inches above the iron!
Just wanted to post this for those also concerned about nulling and missing good targets. The depth meter was a bit off but it still found the good stuff.

Doug,
Did you notice the crosshairs were not in the correct place?? This is why I go by the tones and not the crosshairs as much. I would say most of the coins i found this year in worked out areas where close to iron and gave a good tone, but the crosshairs were off and where bouncing over to iron more than to coins.

I was in a tight discr pattern but the cross hairs were present although a little left of where I expected. It was the signal that gave it away.
Thanks,
Doug
