I left Charlotte-Saturday morning hopeing Irene would pass quickly.I took my time since it was a 6 hour drive from my Home, add some time at a New Flea Market-Favorite Food Spot to eat. I arrived at Atlantic Beach,North Carolina at 4:15 Pm. and found most places without power except a Lowes Food Market with generator's working. It was light rain and the winds were still above 50 mph. Sunday.the bridge over from Morehead City was closed ( all Day ) and finally opened up early Monday Morning. I didn't see any Pirates, so I always check alot of beach access areas. Most of the area had small damage. I would say the beaches were sanded over since I didn't see but ( 1 ) wash from the dunes to the ocean.Detected about 6 hours and left over the Bridge from Emerald Island to Surf City and Topsail Island North Of Wilmington ,waves were still high. The Nut from this trip was. Tab's ( 22 going to Ronald Mc Donald House ) Cent ( 68 ) Nickels ( 14 ) Dimes ( 32 ) Quarters ( 31 ) Token ( 1 ) Rings ( 2 ) not much- Ear Ring ( 1 ) and Fishing Weights ( 11 ) .I used my Excalibur the whole trip. Batteries are discharged and now waiting on Katri to make a land fall ,hopeing on the S.Carolina Coast-goldnugget-Charlotte,N.C.

Wow Goldnugget, You were rolling ,sounds like you had a good outing. I got to get a few trees out the way, Irene was close enough. Want to see the next one go by a little smoother.HH
