I had a friend stop by a few weeks ago and she said I needed to come hunt her house.
So, last night I got directions and this morning I headed out with my hunting buddy.
Although the silver coins where not there other things where so, it made for a fun and enjoyable day.

I was really wet this morning due to rain not letting off till around 9am or so so we got a real late start.
We eyeballed a ton of property on the way we will be checking back on but, we just did not have the time today.

My favorite find and boy was it deep at probably 10" and a faint hit is a small filigree Sterling Ring.
The ring gave me that super faint silver pitch but, on occasion a null. If you where looking at the screen it would not look like much of a keeper.
It bounced all along the top and down and even on occasion going a tad left of center (like Iron) at times then to the far right and down. Whatever it was I was expecting some iron in the hole but, I could never find it.
I circled and circled then decided it was worth checking into. Glad I checked.
Anyhow, here is a pic of the ring as dug.

In total I dug the Sterling Ring, eight wheat's (oldest 17), 1 lead mini-ball, a really old broach, and two "Pontiac" Chief Tokens (identical but, one side is the obverse).
Here is a picture of my digs for the day that where deemed keepers.

Now my friend won the coin for the day with a nice 37 Canadian Large Cent and a beautiful old neck brooch the has a really nice Jade cameo.
He did not dig allot as his arm has been giving him fits.
I think the brooch is the find of the day IMHO. I appears to be gold plated as I cannot find any marking on it as I cleaned it really good prior to posting it for him.
My brooch is obviously older but, his sure is nicer looking.

Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting Everyone.

Nice old relics and coins Mike ..

The two of you made some really nice finds................The broach is really nice......................................................John

Interesting group of stuff Mike. I like the tokens - I had a spot years back where I found about six Ford V8 tokens (I think they were '39 worlds fair tokens).
I could imagine kids must have been playing with them and losing them.
FYI - I think you'll find that the large penny is from England.
