invest in gold coins?

I have bought two with the money I have found along with selling a few of the rings that I have found. I looked around & bought a 2 & 1/2 dollar at a jewelry store that they had on consignment. Paid $150 for it then I just bought a $10. for melt value from a fellow that needed some cash. It will grade XF to AU. I keep my eye on E Bay but have not seen any real good deals there yet.
 
Lots of folks buy gold coins with the clad they dig. Given that the price of gold is so high buying as a collector focus on key dates, if as an investment for the price speculation very hard to say.
