Inverted and the "Heart Beat" hump.. and what I have discovered.

First let me say that I am REAL new to this V3 after about a 5 year lay off from metal detecting.
Boy have I got a LOT to learn.
I never ever really jumped into these new style detectors with all these adjustments.
Although I do like to read and read about everyone else experience and try to make tweeks myself.
Anyway..
I have discovered that with the stock DD coil on this V3 that when I get the "Inverted Hump" or the "Heart Beat" hump in the analyze mode it means 2 targets close to each other.
I have also discovered that when I go to pin point if I move off what appears to be the center of the target about 1 inch, release the trigger and then trigger the pin point a second time the detector allows me to pin point much more accurately and separate the two targets..

Just my experience thus far and proved it several times today.
Still learning the "curve" on this thing but thus far I really like my new machine.

And as a side note, I think I may have stumbled onto a site that has yet to be hunted.
1920's Apartment building that at one time was sort of High Society but now has become a bit "Low Rent".

Got to spend about 45 minutes there today and found 5 coins rather quickly.
1967 quarter, 1992 quarter, 1976 penny, 1970 penny and a 1950 wheatie

I think this site has got some potential...

Carry On ...

You should find some real goodies, silver included, there. Just swing the coil on the slow side so you won't miss too many targets. Slow is better with the V3. Good luck:thumbup:

Good luck -- I hunted a similar site and found about 150 coins, but they were all modern. There was one 1964 silver dime, but the rest were all modern clad, not even so much as a wheat penny.

I just got in and fired up the computer.....found the answer to my question in your post. I had the same "heart beat" type readout and found three pennies close to eachother...then again two quarters only about 1" apart....I am VERY NEW to the sport. (like 1 week of experience) but I have found 32 pennies, 6 dimes, 3 quarters...lots of old rusty metal relics and a button off a military uniform from 1902. To say the least I am learning but having alot of fun too!!!
