I got a call form Research and Development. They informed me that a new prototype of the Cordless Arkie Barky was ready for field research.

It was cold and the ground has been frozen for a few days. I said

Wollie World (Wal-Mart) for $5 in the Garden Supply Section.

It did not come with the cordless drill. You have to buy it separately.

HH,

My new Cordless Arkie Barky Video is at Smitty's forum.

Here's the link.

Hope you enjoy the video,

I drilled a couple of holes in the shaft. Put a piece of white PVC on it about 8"s long and a T at the top so I could grip it better. Now there is no chance my hand will slip down on to the hooks. I put 8 hooks in the knife blade. The hooks look like, if you can picture it, a upside down fish hook at the 4 Oclock posistiion. Just put more of a hook at the top and you got it :D: :D: HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

I want one !!!

Looks like a winner to me except for one detail - might be a bit destructive on some targets. Sure works good in the frozen bark/ground though. Are you thinking of going into full production?LOL

Ha El,

Go to Wall-Mart and buy a Bar-B-Q tongs at the place where they have Bar-B-Q stuff. It's stainless steel, already serrated and cost $7. You can make two of them out of each set of tongs. It's fairly strong, but you can't dig in hard ground with it. It's for sod like in yards.

Have to cut the hooks.

If you want one PM me,

Ha Bill,

That was the first time I ever used the cordless tool. But I doubt it would harm many targets.

I have recovered thousands on targets with the manual Arkie Barky. Never found any evidence of damage of any sort. Can't say that about a conventional digger.

The force is not directed toware the target like a conventional digger. It pushes the wood chips which in turn push the target. I don't think there is even any actual contact between the tool and the target.

The way it works is to cause the whole mess to move and the target just slips through the wood chips. As you saw in the video at least half the time the target just pops right out of the ground.

Watch the first target I recovered in the video real close and you can see the target just pop right out of the wood chips. That was the only two targets I have ever tried to recover with it. I didn't practice and I haven't used it sense. It was just that easy. No bull.

You can buy one at any hardware store. It's for digging in sod. Or for planting.

Mine was $5 at Wally-World.

HH,

It looks like these two have a little more angle on the hook. But I think my hooks look more like fish hooks:shrug:

Mine's a little longer than the short one. One less hook.

So do I just need more angle on the hook?
