Anyone used it? What was experience? Any similar probes known? Their description is very attractive.

Check out the new Garrett Pro-Pointer, it's a cut above all the rest. There is a field test of it on the Garret Forum.

I guess you did not even see my link, Uncle!

These two probs are totally different in concept in use. If you open my link you will see why.

A couple months ago I ordered one from Kellyco. Never got it,kept telling me it was on "backorder". They refunded my money.

Why did you order? What is good about it in your opinion?

That probe looks very interesting, although looks sorta cheap in construction. As far as a field test on the new Garrett probe, I've never seen a field test that said the unit, be it a detector or probe, was a piece of junk or was just ok nothing you should really go out and buy, no offense, but that's just the way it is. I just bought a CZ-3D with a SunRay probe and it is a good sturdy probe that will get a couple inches on a coin, the sweet part is it's connected to the machine which is a big plus for me. I also have a couple of those Cen-Tech probes that were like $20 each with shipping and they do the job just fine. JMO.

I've seen those before. They or ones like them have been around a day or two and they ain't cheap. :) Reminds me of ground penetrating radar.

Bill.

I field tested the Sun Ray for Ralph and if you know how to use it it will get five inches. I'll let you figure it out. :)

I have a Sun Ray on my MXT. It is surprisingly non-sensitive. You have practically to touch the metal object to hear a signal. I wanted to ask the Forum about it. Is it possible to do anything wrong with it?

That's a surprise to me - I have one on my MXT and if anything, it is sometimes too sensitive for a pinpointer in my opinion. I don't know of anything you can do "wrong" with it. You may want to have it checked out as it may be faulty in some way. Make sure you have all the connections clean and tight and make sure they are hooked up to the proper terminals - other than that I don't know what else would effect it. I just set mine up and tested it. With the sensitivity set on the factory preset, I get loud hits at 1" with a quarter, still solid at 2" and if you listen close, faint out to 3". I did check it with the sensitivity set way down and that does make a noticeable difference so that is also something to check. Good luck,

The SunRay probe operates just like a small coil on your detector, in other words if you turn the sensitivity up, in theory your probe/pinpointer should go deeper if your detector coil detects deeper with the gain turned up. If you get better depth in all metal, then in theory you should get better depth with the probe in all metal, that's my understanding.

If so it is very good. I thought that it works like a regular pinpointer like bullseye, but only withput battery and through headphones.

I have a sunray probe on my f75, and it goes very deep. sometimes up to six inches with the sensitivity on 99.

I use a gold machine in parks, chips etc.for "Micro Jewlery". I thought the Intex might work great in moist soil.I like the fact that you can stick it in the ground.
I have since bought a Sun Ray,I'm really pleased with it. Glad I didn't get the Intex

I have the cache Probe and am less than impressed with it. I bought one of the Centech probes from Hharbor Freight and though you can't stick it's probe in the dirt like the Cache Probe, it doesn't have to touch metal to alert.

Hi qwk, if you don't mind me asking what kind of target are you hitting at 6" with the SunRay probe?
Items quarter size and larger. The sound is broken up, but still id's dead on.
