Hello to all. I just wanted to share a recent experiment with you all. A few weeka ago I took a quarter (clad) and some long handled needlenose pliers and shoved the coin three inches down on edge. After the coin was in place I fired up the E trac the coin hit good (double beep) when I swung over it with the coin vertical however it practically dissapeared at 90 degrees/horizontally. I found this very interesting so I went in and got the M-6,Vaquero,compadre and fisher ID excel I was shocked that this coin was nearly invisable after tweeking the machines I was able to get some consistency with all of the machines. I found that sweep speed and coil positioning was crucial on this target situation. Two weeks later after a rain and several waterings the coin hits great from any direction and any machine with minimum sensitivety as to where before I had to put them on kill just to get a sniff. Just food for thougt.
Thanks for looking and happy hunting.

Had this happen yesterday while out detecting, had a quarter standing on edge and the Compadre nailed it just fine, soil was pretty moist.
