Internal trimmer question on a Classic ID....

Jeff Beecham

New member
What are all 4 trimmers functions???

I don't know the numbers from here at work but the one on top of the circuit is
the GB adjustment.. One of the side is the threshold....
What is the other on the side beside the threshold control?? And the one in the
front controls the TID meter....

Thanks in advance for any help,,, Jeff

For future reference from Whites....

VR-1 Ground Balance
VR-4 Threshold
VR-3 Used to adjust for a zinc penny
VR-5 Used to adjust for a nickel

and adjusted it for a copper penny would it knock out all the stinking zincs??

No it wouldn't. Rob

VR-3 is used to adjust the upper level of disc. (upper 4 blocks) on the TID screen... You can use a zinc penny or I took a half dollar
and made it read a quarter and then moved it just barely out of the quarter range into the half dollar block with a good lock on...
Everything else from zinc, dime, quarter was then correct...

VR-5 is used to adjust the lower level of disc. (lower 4 blocks) on the TID screen... I adjusted a nickel to lock on and a common round pulltab
to hit in the block above and flicker back toward nickel... This will help when the nickel or pulltabs are shallow to distinguish
the difference... If they have much depth; you will still have to dig them all to know for sure...

HH, Jeff
