Was hunting the beach on saturday in a good rain. Figured it was cooler, in fact downright tolerable and I had good rain gear so why not?
What happened was I hit what sounded like a good solid quarter and then turn on the iron audio to check and make sure it's not a can, tent stake bottle cap or any of the other typical trash. Got a solid iron grunt both sides of the target. Lifted the coil to see if it was big and dropped off like a coin or a cap. It just sounded so clean and good though in between the iron grunts. Dug it with the scoop and it was a quarter? Swung the hole and everything was quiet. Odd.....
Moved down the beach and hit another. Same scenario. Dimes and pennies were normal, no nickels that day. Darn few tabs which was a shocker as well.
Now this is the first time on a saltwater beach in a soaking rain. It does have me scratching my head a bit though. Never had that happen on a good signal before. Don't know if it's because there was some black sand in the matrix mixed with the mix of salt water and fresh rain or what. Any one else run into this one before?
