Interesting relic finds from Mass (Cannonball, Wax Seal, etc)

Here are some interesting relic finds from my last 2 hunts. I am still researching the buttons and cannonball (?) but if anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

First find are three two-piece buttons. I found all in a small area in various conditions. Still cannot read the back mark on any of them.

Next is a Wax Seal I found at a foundation site. Not sure of the age and the only other thing I found there was an 1800 Large Cent. Image is the side profile of a man with a very funky beard (the previous owner?). I told my GF that I was thinking of growing a similar beard and she threatened to dump me. I told her not to give me any incentive.

Next find is a cannonball (?) found in a field. I have always wanted to find a cannonball and I was quite surprised when I dug it. My friend found 2 others in the same field during the same hunt. It is 2.2 inches (5.7 cm) and weighs between 1.5 and 2 lbs (the digital scale I used on only measures in 1/2 lb increments). I can get a more accurate measurement if it would help ID the cannon type and potential age.

Quarter and musketball for scale (found in same field. The musketball... not the Quarter).

Thanks for looking everyone

Nice stuff there, kind of curious as to what the WP on the buttons stand for. How deep was the cannonball? Ron

Hi Ron,

Believe it or not the cannonball was just under the surface but my hunting buddy said the two he dug in a different parts of the field were down about 6 inches.

I did a more accurate weight today and it came in at almost 1 3/4 lbs exactly.

I dug three cannonballs at a 1793 battle site in Germany and one was a 4 pounder one was a 6 pounder and theother was about two and a half feet down( large one) Both of the smaller ones were shallow .One was about 5 inches the other was about two.
