Interesting question for those that know Tom Dankowski

I am getting a Fisher ID Edge soon, I was wondering if ANYBODY knows how to contact him and does he TWEAK the Edge also? Soon I will be out of the water , and instead of crying will try do do the dirt dig again. This town is super old and since I am near Detroit, there isn't a block in it without a forclosed house that sits empty. Might be able to have some extra fun at least on the parking strips.

I am almost positive he doesn't calibrate I.D. Edge or Coinstrike machines. He doesn't calibrate digital CZ's either. But to make sure go to his site and send him a PM.

Felix at First Texas told me there really wasn't much to adjust or calibrate on an ID Edge when I sent mine in for service.
just sayin'
Tom

PS Tom D is the bomb. I'd value his opinion highly!

Good luck with your Edge...I recently purchased on as well to use a back-up. Performs well in trashy areas (target separation superior to CZ series) and has decent depth (but nowhere near the depth capabilities of the CZ series). ID takes some getting used to but the tones are what I use when I've hunted with it. Headphones are a MUST! External speaker is PITIFUL! Ground balance is a breeze.

Happy Hunting

I have the Edge and the CoinStrike, they have no adjustable pots inside, nothing to tweak. The Edge is my main detector. My deepest target gave low, medium and high tones plus mixed ID numbers (minus 34 to plus numbers) and the depth reading was 01. I was curious about this deep target and dug carefully. At a measured 9.5 inches I saw the target still lodged in place, it was a brass flat button, exactly the size of a quarter. I was using the 10" coil that day. In my opion the Edge goes deep. The CoinStrike has more features but in air tests the Edge is deeper by about 1" on dimes.

There's nothing to tweak on the ID Edge. Open one up and you'll find that it's a single chip on the main-board with nothing adjustable whatsoever.

This same topic was just discussed on Tom's forum.

Tom recently spoke at the 2011 FMDAC convention in Myrtle Beach. Heck of a guy to get to know. If you ever get a chance, you will not regret it
