here is a little sample
Shoreham crept through the water, slipping in darkness toward Lynnhaven Bay, where the pirate ships lay. It was 4 a.m.

Suddenly, on the deck of the pirate ship, men sprang to action. Sails fluttered into position; the anchor rose, dripping, from the bay. Men began throwing overboard all the sails, rigging, masts and goods that had been looted from captured ships. Everything went, to lighten La Paix in the water. As they worked, she moved forward in the bay.
