If your in a hurry or just in the mood to cherry pick, just dig stuff that IDs in the textbook range, whether digital or smartfind. It doesnt take much to learn crown cap, penny, nickel/pulltab, dime and so on.
The allusion that hunting without DISC or IM is similar to hunting with a PI machine is just plain misinformation. The "information" provided by the Explorer's TONE and VISUAL ID is heretofore unavailable from any commercially available PI unit, even the esteemed GP3000.
