Went hunting with my F75 Sunday afternoon. Dug a few pull tabs that registered 45-47. Suddenly I got another good sounding pull tab signal, but this time the VDI was 44 solid, didn't change, so I decided to dig and to my surprise it was a nickel. Completly puzzled by this I covered the hole up and as a usual habit I swung the coil over the hole before leaving. Still something down there. When it was all said and done there were two nickels and one dime in the hole which total the 44 on the VDI. Now that's a first for me. Now on my machine nickels usually read 30 and a dime reads 71. (30+30+71)/3=43.67 rounded up to get the 44 on the VDI.

It might not always be a

That will happen when more then one coin is in the hole.

I have had that happen too, when more then one coin is in the same hole. My F 75, however, doesn't seem to be quite as smart. It never has averaged multi coins to the exact as your's does!:veryangry: HH jim tn
