Interesting Nickle

Da Yooper

New member
Found this nickle today, looks like it my be an error strike. The edge is rolled over the front of the coin. The date looks to be 1970. Anyone have any info on a strike error of that year?

Probably what they call a "broadstruck" coin. It was struck in the minting machine without the collar for the edge. Nice find!

I checked the red book and I couldn't find anything on nickel errors. I'll have to get a hold of a coin dealer I guess.

Nothing like it on Ebay.. You might want to list it there with a high reserve just to judge it's value.

OK thanks Uncle Willy, hope you find it.
