Interesting Junk Finds (2)

Here are some more unique junk finds ... more than the usual can slaw, bottle caps, and pulltabs ... all from two small city parks.

What's a "Beverly Hills Polo Club" emblem doing 5 inches down in a Jacksonville, Florida park ... who knows?

The rusted pistol is heavy, not a toy. It's real. It was 8 inches down, behind a big tree. Hard to figure how it might have been just dropped and lost, and not found for years. It's a small park, and if someone had just dropped it, it wouldn't take more than maybe ten minutes to find it on the surface. Plus, anyone walking in the park could have seen it on the surface, for weeks afterward. I tend to think it got buried.

Lots of stories these things could tell -- if they could talk ...

And ... the bottle opener works perfectly! I was happy to try it out!

The rest goes to recycling ... good to get it out of the ground.

Cheers,

Joe

Nice additions to your recycle bin(s). That little copper tack that you dug is a real pain. I've gotten into areas where they pop up every other beep. They give such nice signals - in the cent-dime range and they must be dug. Oh well, they go into the copper scrap bin! It looks like your pistol is a .25 cal. Maybe a Browning or Colt? It's hard to say with all of that rust and crud on it. Best of luck and...
