Interesting Find

Coinseeker 78

I was swinging the MXT with the 15X12 coil and found this item about 6 inches down. It looks like one of those meat tenderizer hammers. The hammer is quite small compared to today's hammers. The total length is only 5 inched, It seems to be made of iron or steel. It gave me a VDI of a quarter. The area I found it dates back to the 1952 period but a house was on the land in 1823. I also found clad with one dime a year shy of silver. Based on the condition of the hammer can anyone venture an age on it?

That is very interesting, at 5" that seems small even for a tenderizer............very interesting. But a very nice find........

I would also say it was a meat tenderizer. I've seen small ones before, but not 5". Maybe around 7". By looking at the top of it, it's much like an old tenderizer. My opinion  Let us know if you find out anything and I'll keep watching on here also. Thanks and HH, Nancy
