Interesting Find.

Was out yesterday at an old home site. Was finding old pennies from early 1900's. Than I got this loud high pitch sound at the base of this old tree. thought it was silver. Dug down about 8" and hit a solid plate. After some more digging I pulled this lead square plate with a lot of writing on it.Cleaned it off some and noticed all the writing was in reverse. Of course I new right away it must be an old printing plate. I was able to read the large word across the middle which read Rheumacide. Found the advertisement of the same picture in the Washington Post Newspaper Dated October, 28, 1904. A old remedy for Rheumatism.

But the printing plate is cool too -- I found an old one too several years ago and I consider it amongst my best finds. I'll have to see if I can find it and scan it for you. Mine was from a butcher in Paterson, NJ (probably long since gone) and it has amongst the text, graphics of a cow, pig, and a lamb on it. It's a cool plate though old George's teeth would have been cooler! How did you find the original ad?
