While looking for the ghostown Cincinnati Texas on the Trinity River in Walker county, we happened upon a log cabin replica as a memorial to Wayne Scott(never heard of him) next to a creek. The cabin was behind a locked fence so we searched the highway right of way in front of the cabin replica. About an inch down we found this cowboy rodeo belt buckle. Its not that old and it is in rough shape but it was still cool. It appears to have an Eisenhour Dollar in the middle (Eagle side up) and 2 Kennedy half dollars eagle side up. I cant determine if these are real coins yet but it appears they are. They are in bad shape as well and appear to be tacked on the buckle somehow by solder or something. It also has the initials JC. BTW if anyone has information on Cincinnati Texas shoot me a line. The pic is too large to post

first off I see your wife let you use her detector again.good job on the find try to get another picture smaller to post. keep digging.

If your camera allows for it, try setting the picture resolution @ 1024x768.....or close to that. You should then be able to post it and the viewing quality will be excellent on the Internet.

I Email large pictures to myself and chose medium size. It will automatically size the picture for me, save it and it is ready to post.

Heres the pic

from looking at his handy work, the braided wire is carbon steel feeler wire( gas tungsten arc welding)the initials was laid in using some of the same wire, more likely than not the buckle plate was also carbon steel, process used for attaching coins would have been plug weld, drill single hole in center of coin placement area add some feeler metal and you have yourself some below the belly folkart.:super:
just guessing, however it is an educated one.

I think you are 100 percent correct thanks for the input.

Just goes to show you NEVER know what you'll dig up . . nice job.
