Howdy--

I dug this unusual item today. It's copper or brass 1 and 3/16" in diameter. It has the letters S, P and H, O on the obverse and the number 972 on the reverse. It has a hole near the top. I've never seen anything like it. Anyone know what it is? Thanks for any info. Best of luck and...

Similar to what I found on the internet that has Southern Pacific railroad, and they had a Sunset Station. A web page for SP had the railroad tracks going into a sunset. I am yet to find what the H O stands for. I am thinking that the item is a baggage tag??? Research says that it was early 1900's...Sunset station, that is. I will continue to try to find more.

Thanks Shafer44! I think that you nailed it. It makes sense too. I dug it in eyesight of RR tracks. After your input I contacted an old rail road man who said that it was an employee ID badge that was carried on a key chain. I still don't know what the H and O stand for - possibly Houston, Odessa? Thanks for your help! Best of luck and...
