Found this coin or ?? down near the RI. Hurricane barrier sitting About 8-10" down in rocky sand, does anyone know what this is, it seem to be copper, I put a heavy magnet to it and it doesn't seem to stick to it so i figure it copper, anyone??

It looks to be a STORE CARD TOKEN Good for 5 cents at P. Lannon's establishment, which could have been a Bar, Dry Goods store or any other business. Store card tokens were made mainly from the mid 1800s to around the 1930s, but particularly popular during the early to mid 1860,s (during the Civil War). Some are very common, some are rare. Yours unfortunately does not name the city of issue, therefore could be from anywhere. They were made to advertise a business, and during the Civil War were actually passed around as money.

I used to find a lot of tokens, years ago. Not all of them were local, but all are interesting.
I like anything with a name or date on it. That one looks like it's from way back in the 20's to maybe 40's.
