Interesting Day :ranting:...

Well the finds are ok.. But I got the real entertainment out in the park.. First let me start off by saying I was detecting a PUBLIC PARK.. people have been detecting it for years,, and I have for about a year now! I was up hunting up at the far end of the park, between a volleyball court and the road. There is a a little hill that slants up to the road and i decided to go work that area to see if i could find any goodies.. Well about ten minutes in, this noisy crappy old car pulled up and parked about 15 feet away from me.. Two ladies got out, I heard the one ask through my headphones are you looking for something.. I am polite to everyone when I am out detecting even though I hate being bothered lol I pulled off the phones and replied. "oh just looking for some old coins" She began to tell me, you ain't gonna find any of them here and you need to go somewhere else! I about fell over.. I wanted to say and who the hell are you?? but i said "excuse me" she said this is a summer park and there are little kids around, you need to go somewhere else! By this time I knew I was communicating with a real IDIOT.. So I just put the phones back on and turned away from her and kept on detecting at the spot i was at... That must have twisted her underwear because i could hear her going off .. I never even looked up.. Even though there were a thousand things I wanted to say I could hear her say how long has he been there, how long has he been there... The other neighbors that could care less was like who? The guy with the metal detector.

I kept in diggin targets.. She probably thought I was collecting foods stamps or something! I could still hear her through my headphone going off.. It was everything i could do not to say "listen #!@$ i am not F#!$! bothering you or your hoodrat kids"! But i decided to slowly work my way around the side of the volleyball court.,, She got on the phone then pretty soon some "BIG BOY" pulled up in his junky car.. I looked at him and thought to myself, "oh F here we go".. But she ended up getting in his car and pulling up behind my Jeep.. I think they took down my plate number for some odd reason.. Then they both got out and stared a little more.. I just kept on digging glancing up every so often to make sure i wasn't getting jumped.. After a couple minutes, her and Big Boy got in the car and took of pretty fast.. At that time as stubborn as I am, I decided it might be smart to leave.. Who knows who or what they were leaving to go get.. I just don't understand people... They do and act in the strangest ways..

On a better note.. I did pull some neat little items over by the road.. One of the first targets I recovered was the Military Button.. And soon after I got the Freedom Token.. I really don't know much about tokens, or buttons so if anyone can help ID the two i would greatly appreciate it! Thanks for looking everyone and BE SAFE OUT THERE! HAHA

Some people are really so out of touch with reality....who in the heck did she think you were? Some crazy guy with a funny looking Geiger counter who was going to chop up any kid within arm's length of your lesche digger?

It really dampens the thrill of the hunt when we have to come into contact with people like this. Just as we can expect the unexpected in the ground, the same applies above ground.

That sucks!!!!! I always think people see me as some "weirdo" carrying around a sharp looking knife, and digging holes in "their" parks. Most people are real nice though around here..... But you get idiots everywhere, some people are just dumb. I try to go early in mornings when there are not to many people around because I am like you I dont like to be bothered I like to concentrate But anyways it looks like it was worth your while to stick around nice finds!!!! Dont let people bother you!!! You have every right to be there as they do!!!!!! HH

I had a run in with a school worker last year.Kind of the same story. Dont ya just love how people think they have the power to control other peoples actions. Find yourself a orange reflector vest next time and nobody should bother you. :ROFL: Take it a step farther and write City Digger in Sharpie on the back. idiots like that wont know the difference. lol

it kills me how stupid people are! if they only knew the fun and thrill of the hobby, and would give it a try they would be out there right along with all of us! (then again some of them we would prefer they not be out there right along with us) im with you guys im always nice when someone comes up to me being nice (or being EXTREMELY RUDE), but i absolutely hate to be bothered! but all in all like someone said YOU CANT FIX STUPID!!!

Sometimes I tell Hot heads that I am looking for a wedding ring that I was asked to look for. That kinda white lie usually settles them down a bit as I say it quietly to them then stay clear of them the best I can. But folks are sure funny bout things aren't they?
