Since the weather is so bad I thought I would post a picture of an interesting find. It was found on Effingham Street in Portsmouth. It is bronze and measures approx. 3" X 1-5/8". I guess it is from the time when there were street cars instead of buses. I probably won't find many of these in a lifetime.
 
Found something similar, same size, shape, etc., in Denver. Couldn't find any info on it, but with yours, it helps date it. Great Find!

Peddlers were required to pay a fee to the city, which allowed them to sell their goods on the street. There were numerous classes of peddlers based on the value of the goods sold. Yours is another one of those unique finds that is well worth saving. It is definitely a part of history. Congrats on a great find !!
