Interesting abandoned old house...........

Taking a new route home from the feed store the other day, I spotted this interesting old abandoned house. To most folks, it is just that, an abandoned old house, but to me it was interesting, neat looking. As I was taking the pictures, I kept wondering about who once lived there, what happened to them. I noticed some survey markers so I guess this house is marked for destruction and will be replaced by another of the endless new housing developments being built. As I pulled back onto the road, I realized that the country I once knew is rapidly disappearing, will soon be no more. Kelley (Texas) :)

Pictures were taken with a Sony A300 DSLR using a vintage (1985) Minolta 28-85mm lens, F7.1, 1/400, ISO 100, Manual Mode, harsh lighting conditions.

Kelley - nice pictures of the abandoned home. Do you detect at all? You find some amazing places to hunt!

Hopefully, I will again be capable of metal detecting in the future. I find lots of good places that would be great to hunt with a metal detector. Kelley (Texas) :)

Kelley,

Please, call me Jim. I am sorry to hear of your situation. I sure hope and pray you heal from whatever ails you. In the mean time, keep taking pictures and make an album of all these great hunting spots! I know life goes on and land becomes developed, but it is sad to see historical structures and land destroyed. About 3 miles from me there was a home that was built back in the 1750's and was one of the founding fathers of the town. You think someone would come to the rescue to preserve the area? Not even the historical society wanted to do anything about it and they used it for their headquarters! Finally the developer took his crane & backhoe and tore the whole thing down. Then he built a CVS Pharmacy. Go figure - we only have a half dozen of them in my town. It makes me mad to see wonderful historical structures like this destroyed. - Jim

Looks like an old sharecropper's house. Yeah, progress sucks. I hunt construction sites here in Michigan. When I am out driving around, there are two things always with me, my camera and my detector..........nge
