The different crests within the crest look similar (if you squint hard enough) to the various Coat of Arms of the 10 provinces of Canada (see below)

The crown on the top is of Queen Victoria who reigned from 1837-1901. The use of enamel on pins like this became popular there-abouts 1875 and into the turn of the century.

wow steve that is awsome i want to thank you so much for your help on this coat of arms pin i found this pin in a area that i would say had many visits from canadians or franco amaricans and irish /french decendents around the turn or the century so i think you hit it right on the money! thanks agane
