Inifinium for prospecting?

If you can get hold of the April 2013 issue of AustralianGold&TreasureMagazine there is a nice article and pictures by "Wazza" using an Infinium LS on salt lakes in Western Australia...... sorry, can not show (Copy Righted)

. . . . . WA Gold.

The AT Gold will hit smaller gold, can help sort out small ferrous trash in areas loaded with it, and the AT weighs less.

The Infinium will penetrate highly mineralized ground and handle hot rocks better than the AT.

I use a VLF when I can, and a PI when I need to. In my opinion anyone serious about prospecting should have both a VLF and a PI close at hand. Use whichever you prefer, but there are almost always times you will wish you have the other as an option.

The Infini is tough, drop your At pro on a rock ,chances are 90% she 'll leak in the river. But there are dry low mineralized area's where the pro will out find the Infini on shallow gold.

I argee infinum is a tank.I took a large drop in a big wash out area and it handles it well (the fall most likely would have destroyed any of my other machiens).I have had mine for years no problems with the unit just a connection on the OLD style connectors and garrett gladly replaced the coil-updated machine sent me new headphones cause I broke(cut) trying to make a headphone adapter also paid return shipping.Had 7-8 years since runs like a dream still. Should have bought a at pro but they had issues with the first batch(bad coils or something). So I bought a gold bug pro instead of waiting-yeah had to send it in 6-7 weeks later and there service sucks compared to garrets. Not going into details but garrett service rocks fisher not so much.broke my coil boot-sent it back that way.
