Info on Surfmaster PI+

Hi all,

I took the plunge and bought this detector (a great deal). I really love it!

If it has a defect...well it's only that it's TOO DEEP. I'm getting exhausted digging. I'm using a junior shovel but expect will have to use my full sixe trenching shovel.

Question: Does anyone know the specifics on this detector as far as detecting gold? I checked with a thin gold ring and it picked it up at only about 3-4" A silver ring ... I only checked about 9" and it was a BANG in the earphone! I'll see what the limit is but I expect 12"+. FANTASTIC!

My first couple hours out I picked up a tangle of nine chains, a Pedre 17 jewel watch, 2 silver rings, silver heart, 1943S War Nickle.

Needless to say...I am PLEASED.

It is great machine! You made great purchase! It will pay for itself in no time! I love my PI PRO very much too! Genious!

Surfmaster PI is the older version of the PI PRO that I own.
I don't think that its much different ..My freind uses that detector and he's got hundreds of different rings to show for it that he's dug..

This one is called the Pi+ and I think it's a prototype before the PRO...There is a separate manual for it but it doesn't say directly that it has the PRO mod for gold. I'm just curious if it does. Mr Bill might know?

The Surfmaster PI Pro is a different unit, although it's basically the same.

What you have is a early Surfmaster PI unit. It can be made to perform like the newer ones.
