Hi everyone, Just a question on how to attach a swingy thingy harness to a e-trac with a sun-ray probe mounted on the upper shaft. Where is the best place to attach the swingy thingy clamp? Will it work well on a e-trac with a sun-ray probe attached? I only have until april 3rd and I go in for rotator cuff surgery. I will be out of commission for 8-10 weeks I am trying to get all the detecting in before then that I can. I will probably start using a harness afterward just to be safe. Thanks all and HH.
Slide the upper shaft out of the main body about an inch and put the swingy-thingy mount as close towards the main body as possible. Put the probe cord straight back and in between the halves of swingy-thingy. And there you go! Ready to hunt without any strain or kinking of the cable.
Thanks Jason, Do you have a swingy thingy with a sun ray probe? If so just curious how it works for you like that. I mean how do like the swingy thingy
I attached my Swingy Thingy as close as possible to the control unit, right above the probe control box. For my detector, that was the correct balance point. My probe is attached right below the probe control box. I can post pictures if that would help. The other option would be to move your probe up to the side of your battery compartment.
It will take you a few minutes to get it adjusted on your first hunt, but after that it's a breeze.
Would be happy to. I'm at work right now and will post a few pics this evening when I get home. Sure wish I was outside doing some dirt fishing, it's 83 degrees here today in Northern Virginia and sunny.
Thanks Steve, I just got in from detecting in our 72 degree weather and found one merc. and some wheats. I did not stay long as arm started hurting. I'm trying to swing with my other arm but it is hard to get used too. I am looking foward to seeing pics of your set up. HH.
