info for coil

First, I think the coil you're referring to as the 5x9 is the 6x10 DD coil. That's how it's listed by Whites. It is 1.5 oz lighter than the stock 9.5 an the 8" excelerator. The purpose of DD coils is to provide "better rejection of extreme ground conditions". These are Whites words.

They are both good coils. I find the 8" is deeper than the 6x10. The 6x10 covers more ground and works better where there is electrical interference. (EMI) Being round some people find the 8" easier to pinpoint. The ground I hunt in in Illinois is not highly mineralized and therefore the 9.5 is actually deeper than the 6x10 and maybe deeper than the 8". The 6x10 does a nice job when in trashy areas in separating targets. You will see MXT owners like the 6x10 a lot more than DFX owners. Jeff Foster told me it's because on the MXT it has a much better EMI rejection. It should be the same for the M6. Rob
