Does anyone use the Garrett Infinium for gold prospecting and how does
it stack up against the AT Gold?

Hi Salida ~ I for one use it as My Primary Gold Detector (Mono Coil) and it's DEEEEP . I dont know of a VLF on thr Planet that competes on Anything over a gram (i just dont care about anything smaller - really) that's just me. In fact , even at 6inches it's found Finer gold than my Lobo heard & to me , the Lobo is no slouch on Tiny #9 birdshot size target. To Myself it's the Most Detector for the money there is. There is Plenty of Info at This Forum by some Expert Finny users right here. I'm still learning how to super tune mine. Ken~Digs

The AT Gold is stronger on sub gram gold in up to moderate levels of Iron mineralisation and with carefull tuning it will operate in high levels. The AT will find gold at very respectable depth in any ground that it can be ground balanced over.
The Infinium will function very well in any iron and salt mineralisation that you are likely to encounter in the gold fields, It is very good on 1 gram and upwards nuggs.

I have have both and the Infinium kicks butt in super hot ground. The AT Gold is more sensitive to sub gram gold as Adrian said...My opinion...good to have both!
