Infinium Number 2 arrived this PM

Hi There,

I'm now the proud owner of a new Infinium LS. and excited about how it performed in the salt water. 3 hours of staggering waves were enough for one day. I still found a very small silver religious medal (my very 1st Infinium find), a much larger one and 2 nickels from 1940, an elephant 1" long from tip of trunk to tip of tail in sterling and a 22Cal. short cartridge. Also cleared out a little more trash. This is an area I have been working for quite a while now with my Garrett XL500 PIs and I never found anything there this small using small and large loops. Knock your waders off signals too!!

I'm looking forward to the next go around in calmer water.

Oh yes, I used the 8" mono loop and experienced no problems. May try the standard DD loop next time for comparison.

HH friends,

Sounds like you're off to a terrific start!!! :clapping: The Infinium is a great machine when used by an experienced hunter! It's definitely not a beginners machine or for every situation, but in the correct setting it's really that good!!! :garrett: :usaflag:

Hi diggindirt,

Thanks for your reply. I'm sure your right on and tomorrow morning I'll put her thru her paces again, life and weather permitting. I'll keep you posted here.

Took my new friend LS out this morning. Spent 2 hours digging between heavy swells coming in "7 sets". After a few minutes I was thinking I should take up surfing. The LS handled the riled up sand, huge swells etc, very well. It took ma a while to make sense of what she was telling me, but once I understood the messages I picked up a few coins and some small nails or wire pieces and a sinker. I finally gave up when two waves nearly tossed me on the beach.
At 67 years I find it harder to recover from these excursions. Tomorrow ----We'll see.

2+ hours of the same today (mothers day). Got wet, 2-quarters and misc, junk. Solid signals all. I checked out the iron ID on several large signals and as I suspected, get iron verification. A few anchors it would seem. I found that with my XL500s I had to repair the connectors less often if I carried them strapped under my right arm with the unit control knobs facing forward and the loop connector facing to the rear. This keeps the connector and cable mostly out of harms way and doesn't interfere with my work. The LS has a harness perfect for underarm use. Just feed the belt through in a way to allow for horizontal carry.

There are a lot of interesting signals and somehow they are making sense to me, the main consideration is repeatability as with other detectors I've used. I'm looking forward to quiet water so I can better hear those faint signals. Maybe next time.
