Infinium Nuggets

Are there any Infinium users out there who hunt nuggets? Cant seem to come upon an article or post on this website. Its such a powerful gold machine you think there would be. But there are none, kinda annoying. Wanted to hear from those who arent beach hunters on nugget performance, in creeks, and deserts.

Yeh that is what I use my Infinium for, Nuggets. I know of e few people around here that have one also for that purpose, I hunt in N. California and S. Oregon and it is a good machine. Its not as good as a $5000 Minelab....but a good alternative. The 8" mono is the most sensitive coil on it for nuggets and have found a.4 gram nugget with it as the smallest.

Here is a video of me finding a 1/4 ozer with it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzIEEpR2k9s

And some pics also of some of my Infinium nuggets here: http://gallery.me.com/bearkat4160#100092&bgcolor=black&view=grid

Alan, I emailed you earlier, at mashdetectors. Thanks for the post reply here. Oh yeah, seen the video. Damn what a nice nugget!!!h h

Nick...the little 8" mono is awesome for creeks. And in the desert or wide open spaces the 10x14 mono is great! For really really hot ground the stock coil is the best for stability. The 8" mono can get nugets down to about .3 grams. At .6 grams and up is where the Infinium starts get strong with any coil. One gram and up is the sweet spot where she starts to hit hard. The big coils start to detect nuggets at around half gram but some people have found smaller with them.

If you want to hit .1 gram nuggets at 5-6 inches you'll have to pay Minelab $5000 for their nugget machine. Way out of my price range.

Infinium is a great machine. I hear Garrett is working on improvements for it...only rumors though...hope it comes to light soon!

Hope this helps.

Thanks Alan! Just what I wanted to know for coil, on smaller nuggets. Find lots of gold this new year! I sure as hell am gonna try for the first time! Looking forward to 2011 Anyway. h h

Awwh man! Can't link to Steve's site from here? Yeah, he's got alot of great info on the Infinium on his site.
Alan is right on about that 8" coil. It'll find small nuggets. Smallest I ever found with LS is a little over 2.5g and that was with 5"x10"DD. I'll use the Infinium in areas that are known for larger nuggets and use the Scorpion in areas known for smaller nuggets. Infinium is awesome for the beach, too!:garrett::detecting:
Hey Alan, cool vid!:thumbup:Thanks for sharing!:clapping:Congrats on the gold!:beers:
Happy Hunting!:)

I know a few besides myself that have used the Infinium LS for gold prospecting.
To admit using the Infinium to its fully advertised extend and beyond, have in the past attracted some nastiness and bad attitude, strangely it was mainly from other Garrett Infinium users.
Our local Gold & Treasure magazine have a number of times had articles by Infinium users but it's usually because they get paid for submitting the story.
Most will just keep quiet or have a campfire chat, new pictures and video are made but kept for personal records.
As for being "such a powerful gold machine", will most likely depend on the user.
