Infinium LS

Tigger

New member
I am giving serious thought to buying a Infinium LS for beach and dive searching. What other detectors should I consider? What are some of the pros and cons about the Infinium LS? We will be using it this November in Aruba. Any suggestions?

1 suggestion ~ Infinium LS with API ............ . . . . the pros & cons are All over this exact Forum for Years Already, Ken.

Thanks Ken. should I look into the grey ghost underwater headset or get the Garrett underwater set?

Hi tigger , Fishers ghost or ivanll would know that , but prolly the Grey-ghost (Garret headphones dont Impress me, coming from the music world as well

For water use and diving I would rather use a detector with no motion ability.

Read the manual and see the videos it will explain the difference between "Standard and Discrete trash elimination"

Standard elimination i.e. (no motion) is easier to pinpoint with when in chest deep water and the bottom/ground can't be seen.

I agree with Ivanll.
The Sea Hunter is much easier to pin point with than the infinium and will cause you less frustration. The detecting ability of these two detectors is very similar but the Sea Hunter will not handle high iron mineralisation as well as the Infinium. The Infinium has the ability to give you a clue as to whether a target may be gold or not gold.
The Infinium underwater HPs are very loud and donot have a vol control. I have not used the Grey ghost HPs so cannot help there.
The Excal is a nice UW detector if you need discrimination.
I have been playing with a Sand shark lately and it is a nice detector. Not as powerfull as the Sea hunter or Infinium but very good just the same. It does not like elec interference and does not have any means of reducing the affects of this.
The latest Surf master Dual Field PI is a very deep seeker and very sensitive to small iron stuff but can be a bit noisy until you get it figured out.

The infinium is my first pi detector and I love it. You will need a long handle scoop as you will be digging deep. I regularly pull coins at Huntington Beach between 10" and 15" . I'm still getting used to the infinium's language but it is a great machine. It will, unfortunately, hit hard on cans at 24" deep. I've learned that the deeper I go, the signal will start to get real loud and long if I'm on to a can and I will just stop digging. I like the two tone response and am getting good at predicting what will come out of the hole.
