Infinium goes underwater for first time.

Its so great having a machine I can water hunt with and just rest on the bottom while I look for my target. What a great machine.I had to get in the water yesterday it was so hot.The Infinium did well. The 3x7 coil sucks for water hunting but works.I need the 8" coil for this.I also need a scoop. Most of the water hunting around my parts involves no sand so a scoop will not work. This beach is differant and the whole bottom of the pond seems sandy.I had to goto shore to find my target in my plastic flash light housing.

I was dissapointed. This beach has alot of people on it but there all poor.I found a penny, dime and nickle. Also 1 dinky car. After 5 hours of hunting and a whole pouch full of trash I had to leave. The infinium found some very deep pulltabs with the14" dd but found it 2 hard to pinpoint wiht underwater so switched to my only other coil the 3x7 due to lack of depth i think thats why my finds are slim.I spent most of the tie with the 14" and dug every target.I was surpised at the lac kof good targets.I figure someone with a good VLf machine has spent a good amount of time on this beach or just alot of trash no good stuff? Surprsing because most of the clad these days is very irratic in disc and I find can only be found in all-metal mode?

I have yet to find anything real cool this year and am hoping for a new gold ring to replace the one I lost LOL.
Gold ring then one cool silver coin be nice,be a geat before the winter comes.

The Infinium worked awesome. It runs so smooth and gets such good depth.I have had no problems since its repair and runs awesome.I cant beleave some of the bad things people say about the Infinium,I had my doubts with it in the past but since its repair I will never sell it.The only thing I want to see, which is not going to happen ever,is some more coils -thats the only reason I may buy a TDI or minelab.I will still keep infinium but want a PI with a big big coil.

Hey, good things are coming. Just got my 8" coil and went to beach Sat. For 2 hours, this is a small beach north of San Diego, CA. I've worked and cleaned along with many others. So with my LS only month old, It took 45 mins.to get my first signal hi-lo. And loud. It was at the surfs edge straight out from Life gard tower(my best spot always). 5" down, I'ts a ring---covered with sand, It must be gold, yes it is, but only some plated, junk-peace ring but for the moment great excitement. Have many good good finds at this spot. Now that I can get in the water, can,t wait for those minus winter tides. Still will be trying the Black Widows phones soon. Good luck.

According to Garrett, the 3x7 coil is not suitable for water use. Still working ok for you though? Just wondering...... HH-crispy critter

3 x 7 & 5 x 10 are not for more than wading depth in shallow water. There is a tag at the bottom of the cable that states "Not For Diving)

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I think there good for 5 feet or less.I have used mine in water plenty with no issues at all. There not resin/epoxy filled. It does not swing well or like to stay on the bottom. The 8" mono is a much better choice, but this 3x7 has its use's.I like in rocks or trying to use on land in trashy area's.
